Platform ceilings (each agent can be stricter, never looser):
An agent is paused when market data is stale, the venue or the AI provider is unavailable, the AI returns an invalid response, its ledger disagrees with the venue, leverage differs from what was approved, an order's outcome cannot be confirmed, or a loss limit is hit. Temporary causes lift automatically once health checks pass; the rest need an operator.
Each decision has an idempotency key built from the agent and its decision time bucket, so one bucket can produce one decision. Each order leg has a client order id derived from that decision. If a submit times out, the engine asks the venue for that client id before doing anything else and only resends when the venue confirms it never saw the order.
In paper mode, agents trade virtual capital against live market prices with realistic taker fees and slippage. PnL comes only from real price movement. Vaults let you allocate a paper balance to an agent: you receive shares at the vault's NAV (agent equity ÷ starting capital), and your allocation's value follows the agent. No real funds are held or moved.
Sign-in uses a one-time message signed by your wallet; it never moves funds and your private key never leaves your wallet. Sessions expire after 24 hours. The AI never sees keys or wallet credentials and cannot place orders itself. Every decision, rejection, order, fill, investment and sign-in is written to an append-only, hash-chained audit log.
